The pop-like imagery of Swordapop has been mish-mashing together over the past few years. Stemming from company founder and in-house artist Ian Scalzo's love of comic book artwork, graffiti and the urban street culture that extends its arms into skateboarding and snowboarding.

Ian's artwork, an illustrative style with a vibrant color palette inspired by techniques used in animation, proved to be a versatile medium. While preparing for a yearly San Francisco event, open house studios, Ian had an idea of offering a more buyer friendly alternative for his art, the t-shirt, allowing his works to be more attainable to art enthusiasts yet still maintaining the quality of his artwork.

After Ian's incredibly well recieved initial print run of shirts, the foundations for Swordapop were born.
